Long-life lighting for luxury furnishings: invisible light engineering for Carolina Herrera

For 15 years, Actilum has been developing technical lighting solutions for Carolina Herrera furniture. Carolina Herrera furniture in Europe. In this new project, we are working with Ebenusspecialized in high-end furniture for the Antonio Puig Group. Antonio Puiggroup, in the creation of a central island for El Corte Inglés de Goya.

A project where the light was not to fail for at least six years, integrating perfectly into a luxury piece without compromising aesthetics, functionality or maintenance.

The challenge

Ebenus took on a demanding challenge: to manufacture a central island that could withstand intensive use without disruption or failure. In this context, LED lighting plays a critical role:

  • A light failure compromises the perception of the entire piece of furniture.
  • Repairs involve dismantling complex structures.
  • The furniture must be approved by the Carolina Herrera quality team, which physically inspects the products at the factory.

The integration had to be millimeter-tight, quiet, stable and reliable. Everything had to be designed with a six-year maintenance-free horizon.

The solution

Actilum worked as an invisible layer of lighting engineering, providing both technical solutions and active support in the development and installation:

  • Frontline S12: rigid LED strip with diffuse optics for stable light lines, no hot spots and optimized heat dissipation.
  • Line Ledexpert 144: high-density flexible lighting, ideal for controlled accents and curved areas of furniture.
  • 100%customLuxpanel: homogeneous backlit panel, precisely adjusted to tight tolerances to avoid displacements due to use or temperature.
  • Drivers, connectors and technical cabling: dimensioned to exceed retail standards and ensure long-term stability.

The entire installation was designed to operate for more than 50,000 hours without maintenance, validated by internal thermal and electrical tests.

Process and technical collaboration

The Actilum team reviewed drawings, adjusted solutions in coordination with Ebenus and made two technical visits to its factory to verify integration, shadows, light colors and verify low heat emission in LEDs, sources and wiring.

During the final assembly, which was carried out at night so as not to interrupt the shopping center’s operations, we accompanied Ebenus in dismantling the old island and installing the new furniture.

This accompaniment is part of our commitment: engineering that is not limited to the product, but is integrated into the customer’s process.

Result

The result was a flawless center island with no shadows, no visible wires and perfectly integrated lighting, approved by the Carolina Herrera technical team without comment.

In Barcelona, Juan Martin Ramirez In Store Executive and his Puig team recommend Actilum’s services for their reliability, performance and constant technical support. The goal of six years with no light falloff and no failures is not a promise: it is a consequence of design, testing and technical collaboration.

All our products are designed and manufactured with our own SMD lines in Barcelona.

This project represents what we do best: being the invisible layer that brings the visible to life. Luxury is built with details: Ebenus makes it, Carolina Herrera demands it and Actilum ensures that it works as the first day.

We collaborate with manufacturers, designers and global brands.
